Program Details
1. Orientation (10 minutes)
We will briefly introduce the history and cultural background of Japanese sweets.
Here we will briefly explain the characteristics of wagashi (traditional Japanese sweets) that are popular in Japanese households.
2. Preparation for making Japanese sweets (10 minutes)
We will explain the ingredients and tools used (anko paste, glutinous rice, cherry leaves, etc.).
We will provide participants with simple steps to follow and support them so they can get started on the tasks.
3. Japanese sweets making practice (30 minutes)
Enjoy the process of shaping the sweets.
Serve in serving bowls and garnish with seasonal garnishes to complete the dish.
4. Tasting time (10 minutes)
The finished Japanese sweets are then sampled with matcha and hojicha tea.
